Hi,
I'm using lexicon's omega desktop recording system with Cubase LE and a set of bad headphones (very cheap...). the reason I mention them is because my monitored playback is intensively leaking into my recorded channel.
This happens even when I cover my headphones so that i can't even hear them.
could the mic (AKG C1000s ,c2000b) be so sensitive, or is there a hardware problem.

I'm very new with home recording so I guess anything's possible.
I really need some help.

Recording or not recording played back files is a matter of the control mixer settings. This is an extremely common difficulty for beginners until they get the proper idea and correct the settings. There is a good probability this is your problem too.

What is the control mixer?
is it a part of cubase?
how and what do I need to correct it's settings?

Do they not print anything to include in these packages anymore? See if you can find a pdf file on the install CD or in the Lexicon program folder that steps you through a tutorial.

One big thing that gets overlooked a lot is the old software settings in the Windows mixer window. If there is a "What You Hear" strip, de-select or "Mute" it.
