Hey all,
I've been using my firebox for about a year now, and up until a few weeks ago everything was going fine. I've been using it with the bundled cubase le software, and this was fine.
A few weeks ago I shut down my laptop, disconnected it from everything on my desk (firebox, printer, mouse, a/c, etc...) and went on a trip. When i returned I plugged my comp back into my firebox and started a new project in cubase. I went to projects, then device setup to select the firebox as my ASIO driver, as is customary whenever you begin a new project. But this time, cubase claimed: No sound device is connected to the PC. The sync light is red, and wont go back to blue.
I checked my firewire port with my digital camera, and everything there is working fine. I even deleted cubase, reinstalled it, and the same thing is happening. When I plug in my firebox, my computer picks it up and makes the ding ding sound (you know what I mean). When it's unplugged, the control panel reads "no device" under sample rate, and then 44.1 when it's plugged in, so the firebox seems to be functioning ok. Am I doing something wrong? Is there some setting i'm forgetting about in Cubase, or has my firebox pooped out on me?
Please help!
update: I've reformatted my computer, and reinstalled everything (i'm desperate) and nothing worked. Any suggestions?
