I have Sonar LE (which is v4...), and it's been a while since I used it, therefore I can't remember what it can do, much less v4, but...
Look in Sonar Help under "Backup" (data backup kind of stuff...), and there's like 3 methods of doing it. One of them creates a big file that includes everything (including audio). Another way just saves the project file, and the 3rd saves all the stuff (including audio), but then you have to go into Windows Explorer and copy all the pertinent poop yourself, including the folder structure. For the life of me, I can't remember what they call the 3 methods... Needless to say, each has its advantages and disadvantages.
Probably what you're running into, the way you're doing it now, is folder structure... In other words, when you save a project, it has all the data of your particular setup, such as "C:/Program Files/Cakewalk" is your program folder, and "D:/Temp/Cakewalk/Song" is where you saved your audio files. Your friend's box has Sonar setup differently (different drives and/or folders), and/or you're trying to load the files directly off the CD or DVD disk, and all the files are write-protected...
