I bought a belkin plug that connects to my computer output then splits into 2 then into my reciever input (red/white audio cables) ..... i have these functions on my reciever.. Tape1 : Tape 2 : CD : Tuner : Phono ... (its a fisher reciever slightly older) I currently have 2 speakers plugged into it but it is not working for some reason... i have the reciever turned on and selected whatever function i plugged the input cables into... but no luck.. is there anything else im missing or could be the problem? thanks alot.

note: when i have my computer speakers plugged in to the output it works perfect but i try to switch the output cables to the reciever and nothing happens...

thanks again.

I think that what you wanna do is soundcard headphone out - split to audio in on the receiver.
Try Tape out, or Line out from the receiver to th
e sound card.
Been dere done dat, and it's all different,,

A receiver has a tuner built-in. That 'tuner' selection for the input selects that internal source. If you don't get something out when that is selected, there is a problem in the receiver. You should also test with some other external source such as a CD player or tape deck. Verify that the receiver actually works.

those tuner amp combinations often have a 'tape' or 'record monitor' button and when this is selected it cuts out all the inputs to listen back to a connected tape recorder.
perhaps this is selected, but as andy said, try a different source and check it works in the first place

do what andy suggested, plug a cd player in to the tuner to see if your tuner works.
then When i hook up a computer to a stereo tuner, i always use the CD in.

good luck.
