Hello, I recently purchased a used VS840 and came home to find out that the manual that came with it was a VS840 EX manual. Although Im sure that they operate in a very similar way, I still get lost when trying to follow the manuals instructions by pushing a button and then checking the display for what it should say after the button is pushed. Obviously the 840 and the 840ex differ because thats when the diplay will show something totally different that what the manual; says it should say. Help I need the manual that was written specifically for the straight up VS840. Can anyone help me.

go to Roland web site, you should be able to download a copy.
If not, I suggest doing a search on Yahoo, etc. and get a reprint thorough a 3rd parrty reseller
I have both manuals after upgrading to the EX and don't really see what you are talking about, the only difference between the two are the EX has a bigger disk drive, scsi, and some additional effects and a feature called quick record which you have to go out of your way to enable. After learning the unit with the older manual I only looked at the new manual to see what new effects were added.
