I am enjoying your music very much. I don't have the best ear, so I can't give you a worthy review. But, I did listen to your music along with some professional classical (such as John Williams) and I only heard a slight difference. And, that's probably because the professionals have real orchestras to back them up. The content of the music was pretty good, and best of all, none of it bored me. I like classical (instrumental) music, but I can get bored, so you did good.

With a little practice, I would like to write music as you have done.

Do you have any particular advice?
How do you come up with melodies? Harmonies? Arrangements?

Knowing how you do it might give me a clue as to how to improve mine. I don't need a lesson in music theory. I know enough to be just above dangerous. So, when I asked about melodies, harmonies and arrangements, I wasn't talking about what types you choose but the process you use to create them.

This sounds really good.

What do you use for the orchestral samples? I know I have some kind of orchestral samples at home but I can't remember which one.

I can't vouch for him, but I carry a notebook around with me. If I get an idea in my head during the day I'll try and hang on to it until I'm in a position to write it down (of course being able to write music is an advantage in this case).

Otherwise, I will sit down in front of my keyboard, load up the Bass Guitar patch, noodle until I get something, record and re-instrumentate it and work from there. Usually I find myself writing basslines (because I'm playing a bass guitar patch) but occasionally they cross over into melody and I have to write beneath that.
