Midi Controller Question

I am thinking about adding a sythesizer to my (small) homestudio. I have been thinking about picking up the program Absynth. My question is, what kind of a midi controller would you recommend to use with this software? Also, are all of the sounds controlled directly by the software running on the computer (i.e. sound loaded in Absynth is heard as key pressed on midi controller)? If that is the case, then I guess I won't necessarily have to spend and arm and a leg on a midi controller.

Spend the time to go to a big music store and find what feels good for YOU.
Anything you don't like the feel of will quickly get shoved aside and "feel" is a very very subjective thing....

I use a cheap Keystation49 USB for quick and synthy parts, but when I get serious I switch over to my 88-key hammer-action keyboard.

You gott use what feels good to YOU.

Yes, that synth has midi capability.

1. don't know if you plan on using it just for midi or anything else. 2. You are right midi is not audio it is just a set of instructions sent to your software to produce the sounds you hear. 3. Most midi controllers do not have sound cards or banks. The one you had pick out looked as though it was discontinued make sure it is still supported by the company.

One last question:
To evoke sounds from Absynth, do I simply go Midi out from keyboard, to midi in on interface? Or do I have connect both midi in and outs?

Midi out from keyboard to midi in to interface is all you need.
