I have downloaded the user guide to this board but find myself a bit fuzzy on the effects loop setup as well as the output level setting to monitors. My understanding is that the headphone level out is what also controls the monitor level out...is it just the fact that there are no headphones plugged in that allows the output level to be directed to the monitor level out??? or is there a switch to depress? What if you wish to use both headphone and monitors? is that an issue?
Next would be the effects loop setup. I read that the Aux 1-3 area, 2specifically is the effects send, then 13/14 or 17/18 inputs are used for the effects return....is that correct? 1/4" to RCA adapters must be used I assume? How to set the level of effect channels 1-12 pre-fade/post fade? need some clarity on this ...anyone????

I have a spirit FX16, I don't know if they are laid out the same on the board. there is a dedicated path for the fx's on the fx16 it is aux 4, and dedicated buttons that must be depressed to send the fx's to the desired channels, there are buttons on the master control section that have to be depressed to activate fx's signal. I don't understand the monitor/headphone question, don't you have a monitor out volume control and a headphone volume control on this mixer? they should be seperate, i've never seen a mixer where the monitors and the headphones were controlled by the same volume knob. hope this helps

There is no aux 4 on the Folio SX. Your headphone mix/monitor mix option is so that it could be used as part of a recording setup. The idea being that in a live situation you would be using aux 1 and (when I run a gig with it) aux 2 (set to pre-fade) for your wedge sends. The headphone jack and "monitor" mix outputs are just your main mix comming back to you. This will also solo tracks along with your pfl switch at the bottom of the strip.
For your fx sends/returns you have aux 3 which is a dedicated post fade send (ideal for vocal reverbs/etc) and aux 2 wheich is a switchable pre/post fade option. When running a gig I ise aux 1 & 2 for my wedge sends and aux 3 as the send for any reverb I need. Comming back into the desk you can use the stereo inputs as returns, but you have the option of 1/4" jack or rca inputs. The faders control the jacks where as your level knobs control the rca. Personally, I run the return into the fader and have cd player/laptop running thorugh the rca input.
Hope you find this usefull and feel free to pm me of you want more detailed info on specific questions.
