What is a good audio editor substitute for Wavelab? Just a few helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks a million

I have used SoundForge for many years.
Audacity is free.

Here is a ton more:

(hitsquad is always a good place to start looking for audio software...)

Thanks for the great info. I hate to be a sceptic but would any type of freeware programs be as good of quality as Sound Forge or Wavelab or other pricey audio editors. I wouldnt have the slightest idea about them. Sound Forge does look quite promising though. I currently have Wavelab on my PC and just bought a Macbook so I wanted to go another route with my apple. Just some ideas and you definitely have me looking at the freeware programs. Thanks

Eddie

Ouch, guess Sound Forge isnt Mac compatible. Damn! I was looking at DSP-Quattro though, any thoughts??

Look here as well, there are some audio editors available for the mac that are free to try before you buy, including DSP Quattro......

Bias Peak was a pretty close equivalent to Sound Forge that I considered when switching to Mac. They make an LE version that is pretty cheap, which of course is definitely not the same as "free."

Little things like what platform you are on should be in your posts when you ask about software suggestions.

We're not psychic!!!

(I have owned and used ALL computer platforms during the past 30 years... I started off with a Mac128 on System6, so don't take this as a slam.... just need more info next time...)
