I recently purchased a firebox, with which I am very pleased.:) I've been using the cubase le it came bundled with. It seems that cubase only lets you arm and record to 2 tracks at once whick is ok , but it doesn't seem to receive audio from any inputs other than the 2 on the front, not matter how I route the signal using the dsp mixer it does not get the signal to the track when using inputs 3 & 4. Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation of cubase le?

Also is there a way to direct monitor the signal without the dsp mixer? When I go to the device set up panel the direct monitor option is greyed out not sure what that means...

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi there onceler and welcome,

I believe Cubase LE allows up to eight ins (8 tracks) at once. You need to address the card in Cubase under VST inputs and then address the cards physical ins/outs in the inspector window for each track.

I'm not too familiar with the Firepod's mixer, perhaps someone else can opine.
P.S. Glad to hear that your happy with your purchase!

Thanks for making my life a little easier, I don't know why I kept looking over the VST inputs menu. I got that part figured out. It will only let me enable 4 inputs at once which is perfectly fine for what I do, besides the other 2 are digital ins which at this stage, I don't really need. Thanks again!

Itsplayed was correct!

In Cubase go to:

Devices > Device Set Up > VST Multitrack and make sure the ASIO driver is set to Presonus FirePod.

Then go to:
Devices > VST Inputs and make sure you have all of your inputs on the FirePod activated (Turn the active buttons on - they will be blue when active)

Finally, open the Mixer (F3 in windows) and look at the very top of each track. From there, you can route inputs and outputs to the proper channels.

Hope that helps,
