I'm reconfiguring my setup so that I can move my keyboard/controller between the vocal booth and the control room.

I'm currently using the MIDEX-8 as my interface. I want to keep the controller assigned to the same Input and Output on the MIDEX.

The solution I've come up with is the employ a 2 to 1 MIDI Merge and have MIDI cables setup in both areas that I will be using the keyboard in.

I've got 3 models I'm looking at and wanted to get some feedback from anybody who has had some experience in this area:

1: M-AUDIO MIDIMan Merge 2x2
2: Philip Rees Little 2M Merge Unit
3: MIDI Solutions Merger

Thank-you in advance,

I guess no one has any experience here on doing what your looking to do, but I am curious about this and would like to know what your final solution is and how it works out for you.

Hi.. for what it's worth, I've been using the Phillip Rees midi merge unit for years now without a problem. I use it in a live situation where I have two keyboards to play, on different channels with different voices.

Apart from merging you also still get the two input ports available at the output. And the PSU is built in - no power blocks.

I decided on the M-Audio box since it has an optional power supply. Since I'm going to be using only on input at a time, any box that depends on Input 1 for it's power wouldn't work.

Thanks,
