M-Audio keyboard pedal

Hello, I was looking at getting an M-audio MIDI controller (one of the Axioms). I noticed that there is a keyboard pedal that can be attached. Can this keyboard pedal be programmed to a specific MIDI file (ie a bass drum), rather than act as a MIDI controller (pitch modulator etc)? Thanks.

I have a sustain pedal for my ancient Casio CPS-7 keyboard.. I use Reason 3.0, and can assign it to perform any function at all by overriding a remote command..

If I wanted it to play my bass drum, I would set it up to overrdide the 'test-play' button on the redrum.. I normally just use it to turn loop on and off, but the point is that you should be able to use it for anything you like.. :)
