I just picked up an iMac 24" (wow, it's BIG!), and my M-Audio Firewire Audiophile interface does not work... the lights just flash on the unit.

I even reinstalled the machine (OS X, 10.4.7), and installed the latest driver (1.7.2) on the fresh install. Powered down the machine, plugged in the interface, powered it back up, and nothing! Still the lights just flash.

On my Macbook (Intel, 10.4.7), it works fine. What gives? Anyone know how to debug something like this?

Other firewire devices (external hard driver, external DVD burner) are working fine with the iMac. I removed my firewire hub, connected the audio interface directly, etc, with no change in result.

Was just wondering if you have solved your problems with the Audiophile Firewire. I'm having the same problems. - The firewire I installed ran fine for almost 1 month and then stopped to work. Meaning that my iMac doesn't recognize it any longer. Even uninstalling and reinstalling the driver that I downloaded from M-audio doesn't help. -
Would be grateful for some answers!

M-Audio released a newer driver which solved my issue with the iMac.

You are running OSX 10.4.7. The driver for 10.4.6. which I'm running dates back from May 06. Maybe I should upgrade to 10.4.7.?
Anyway, reading through various forums, there seems to be some sort of issue with M-audio and firewire -there are just too many posts regarding this issue. - And no one really offered a full fledged solution that takes away the headache. - Not a good thing for the reputation of M-Audio ... In my case it's pretty clear. I had two products from them and both created problem after running ok for some time. So no more M-Audio in my studio -
