Hello,
Is there any available software for the Firewire 410 that has movie/Time Code support? I was saddened to note that M-Powered 7 does not.
I'll be editing an HD project on an Apple computer with Final Cut Pro and already have a Firewire 410.
Many Thanks!
Chris ~

A couple of little known facts -
You can import a quicktime movie to Pro Tools M-Powered.
There is a sort of "cheat" on the time code limitation in PTMP. If you open an PTLE session in PTMP that had a SMPTE time code line active, it will remain active in PTMP, so you can get a template that will be blank with the SMPTE time code active, you'll have smpte in PTMP.

Thanks for your speedy reply, David!
Do I understand correctly then, (be patient with me: I'm a cameraman just recently interested in audio) that I'd need to purchase both PTLE and PTMP in order to carry time code? (And then, it wouldn't write, but only carry pre-existing time code?)
What I'd like to do is have the shoot recorded with time code directly to laptop on location, but must find software (hopefully Firewire 410 compatible) that writes time code. (The camera on the shoot in question, a Sony Z1, writes time code on tape but doesn't send said signal to an audio recorder... Grrrr!)
Thanks for any suggestions/direction you have to offer ~
Cheers!

PTMP technically, isn't supposed to have SMPTE time code support. (you can insert a quick time movie into a project.) I mentioned the above as a lucky "bug."
PTLE does have SMPTE and other video capabilities, but does not work with the FW410.
The 'bug" works by using a template created on a Pro Tools LE system, ( a friend's, or someone else you know, system or one you might find on the internet somewhere)
It sounds like you'll be working fairly often with video and you'd be better off just getting LE. OR by using another application altogether with the FW410.
