When I use the projectmix with my Mac Quad G5, after about 30 seconds or so, the connection gets lost (if the control panel is open, the audio meters stick where the connection gets lost). This happens with any program (itunes, DP 5, etc..). I've tried the obvious - uninstalling drivers (versions 1.6.., 1.7.1, 1.7.2.), reinstalling, uninstalling programs that I had installed after I bought the projectmix (I bought it in Dec 2005, and it worked ok for about 4 months, then the firewire board fried, got replaced, and ever since it's been acting up).

Can anyone help?

Quad G5, 6.5 gigs RAM, DP5, UAD-1e, Logic Pro 7, NI Komplete 3, Albino 3, Ivory, and a bunch of other fun stuff...

I found the culprit for those who might be interested - there is a possible driver/software clash with the Wiebetech PCIe SATA / G5Jam Express card (this card adds 2 internal SATA drives to the Dual core G5s) - the Projectmix worked fine with the UAD-1e card, and also with my Powerbook G4.

Hey, I hadn't heard of this problem. Did you come to this determination after talking to the the M-Audio Tech Support team, or did it work after you removed that SATA card?

The Quad G5 and Projectmix worked fine when I removed the SATA card - when I replaced the SATA Card, the Projectmix would work for about 20 seconds (listening to something on iTunes), then the connection would die (the control panel also gets stuck, can't even effectively force quit it, and when I try to shut down the computer, I have to hold the start button on the G5 to shut down - everything really weirds out).

My MOTU 828mkII works fine with the SATA card installed. I also emailed the techsupport at M-audio and Weibetech.

Oh yeah... I also removed the UAD-1e card (along with the SATA card), then replaced just the UAD-1e card, and the ProMix worked fine. When I added the SATA card, things messed up - also tried different slots, but still the same problem.

Please private message with your contact info. It could also be something related to the hard drives attached to that card. I'll have one of the techs contact you.
