View Full Version : m-audio firewire 410 beginner

Hello-

I am absolut beginner. I have a laptop zepto note 4200, and m-audio firewire 410 and 2 monitors nEar 05 eXperience, and cubase SE. I have a nice sound but i can not play back and if i connect a mic in the front of m-audio there are no sound.
So how do i get some sound from the inputs?

I'm not sure I'm understand exactly how you're setup.
Here's how you should be:

Be sure the speakers you are using are connected to the 1/4 inch analog connection - 1 and 2 out - of the 410.
Be sure the buttons on the front of the 410 are set to Mic (not line)
If it is a condenser mic, be sure phantom power is turned on (under that main power switch on the right)
Launch the 410 control panel on the computer.
Check for signal in the ANALOG IN 1 and 2 channel. Turn the volume up on the channel where you see the signal. You may pan left or right using the panning knob for the channel also.
Be sure the channel you are using is set to output out of 1 and 2 by clicking the button 1/2 underneath it. It should be blue.

Adjust the main volume to your liking.

That should do it.
