Delta1010LT - too loud ?!

Hi,

Recently I bought a M-Audio Delta-1010LT audio interface, and my Creative Inspire(2.1) is connected to it.

With my previous 'On-Board' sound card, I used to set my speaker volume (hardware) to 50-60% get a good sound level. (O/S volume control @ 80-100%)

Now with Delta 1010LT, even if the speaker volume is only 20% it's LOUD! Ofcourse, I could reduce the volume using Monitor Mixer.. but I use the direct output, it's very loud that it's audible even when I set speaker volume to 0%

What could be the problem? Will it ruin my speakers if I accidentally allow it to play very loud (more than what the speaker can handle) ?

There are two types of outputs "scales" the 1010LT will output. Open the control panel, on the hardware settings page, you'll find the switches for each output channel. Try setting it to -10dbu.
