I have a friend that has a small fortune in studio gear, has quit his day job, sold his truck and tools and made what is probably the worst cd in history( I'll post a sample soon) levels are all over the place, spent $2000.00 with discmakers.....going door to door basically to sell his cd's, wants me to give him my opinion on this and I suspect he is waiting for me to say that it's the best I've ever heard........It's not just me....several people have heard this cd now and I don't say anything except" listen to this" all have been floored by the lack of musicianship and the general crappiness of the project. Should I just let him learn for himself that a pro should have done this for him or do I tell him that he sucks?

Have him add an accordian part and
pitch the tune to Al Yankovich.
...or National Public Radio.

I would probably tell him "it sounds a little rough".
