Piano roll note duration problems

I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get the duration of notes to change in the piano roll sequencer. When I try and write a simple bass line (with any bass note samples) and drag a note to extend it's duration it makes no difference whatsoever.

Has anyone else had this problem or better still does anyone have an idea as to what I'm doing wrong?

I've read a lot of fruity loop help documentation and searched forums etc. and had no luck trying to solve this problem :confused: If anyone can help I'd be really grateful.:)

It all depends what instrument you're using. If you're using a "short synth" preset in the "sim synth" instrument, you'll only be able to get a note to last for a certain length of time. If you want a longer sound, you can try instruments that last for a longer duration, like Bass_Ef or something. I'm not sure if it's possible to mod an existing preset to last longer. It would be nice if you can. :p
