Last night, I reformatted my laptop, I re-installed windows xp, I went to play some music and windows media player came up with an error; so I checked the "Sounds and Audio Devices" in the control panel and it said I had no audio devices.... Is there a program I can use to see what company my sound card is with so I can download the drivers? I remember before I reformatted that there was some kind of sound effects button which looked like this:

But I don't know where I could re-download it too.

What is the device that has a question mark? That's your issue(Other Devices), open the tree to have a look. Did your laptop come with any disks? If so, you should find the drivers for your audio card on one of them. If not, just go to the manufacturers website to obtain your audio drivers for your model laptop.

You don't know what laptop you have or the model number? Your missing drivers for three seperate devices there...The first one is your soundcard, the second one is the Modem/Lan controller and the third is your USB controller. Go to the website of whoever made your laptop. Look for a 'Support' menu and key in the model number for your laptop to locate drivers.
