That was bad-ass! ...both from a musical and production standpoint. The only thing that I'd suggest is to bring out the lead guitar just a tad. Good work and keep it up!

Whoa! that sounds really excellent, mind listing your setup? Would be very useful to me because I'm building a professional studio right now.

Yes I like it as well, I think that the opening bass/rythym track is strong, but is too much so throughout the song....it's overpowering....and where did you come up with the snare hit accents throughout the song? I like it, but they're all over the place. Is their a pattern, I have yet to decipher? Otherwise, I think its a good mix...keep up the good work!

I smell Mars Volta, Opeth, and a touch of (santrini ? spell'ng), add a sprinkle of Larry Carlton, dash of Walt Becker..

Good players on your mix indeed. Soundclick omph-presion (compression),may not do it justice.

Good woork indeed.
My only personal, and it's just me, the mix is fine, is the drums, just the processing thing. ACK ! I sound like a freakin purist ! lol !
keep 'em coming. Use the backstage lounge for this though I am thinkin'
be good
play nice

Fantastic musicianship!

Reminds me of the last King Crimson concert I went to.

BUT, maybe it's just my system but I found the overall mix REALLY tinny. I monkeyed with my EQ and found what was biting into my ears was in the 6K range.

Just a thought.

Fantastic work, friend. I hope someday to create something half as good!

Just thought I might add to a previous poster to embellish my quick analysis the first time. On second listen (and this is personal preference as well as standard mix convention), the drums do seem a little "too present" for the ambience of the rest. But it's not like it's a mortal sin. Structure and expression definitely leave a good ring in the ears. A recording engineer could add a little tweak here and there to make it perfect. It's a keeper in my book. Good luck.

Rock on dude! I like the bite the bass has ala Yes, snare is a little loud and toms need upped and I couldn't hear any crashes (may just be me), synchopated offtime is awesome. The lead sounds great, around 1:16 goes search mode, nice scales, just a tad louder, did you add the verb to the over all performance or just add-in guitar work? Good sound, let's hear some more with a vocalist!

there are a lot of problems with the mix. but this song was recorded in less than a day, and we liked it so much that we just put it onto our site with minimal effort on the mix.

The funny thing about drums is that they are an 'out of sight, out of mind' kind of deal. It is only when they are mixed more evenly that people pick out their problems. But if they are mixed to the back, then people can't hear anything to have anything to complain about (except wanting them to be louder). It is hard to win with drums. Especially artificial ones.

I guess, what i would have to say, is the drums and bass sound a little too 'processed', and kinda loose the spectrum of their significant sound areas...
Nice guitar work by the way...
be good

Nice. I like hearing new stuff. I hate radio. Thanks for the opportunity.

For those like me that hate radio, love music, and love to here new things. Do yourself a favor and listen to.........

Artificial drums? Like drums in a box or electronic drums? I'd have to say that the drums and bass are significant in recordings, they build the basis for all the icing on top. Rock music has to have the drums in foreground some, bass thumpin', getting a good level on everything in the mix from the get-go is the key. Your doing good, keep it up, but please spend time on the final mixes before ya go public with them, ieght, its your sound.jmho

Yes satriani influenced it sounds indeed although there are loads of like minded artists coming out with that kinda sound nowadays I also here a little of hawkwind and loads of the older heavy metal bands with the same kinda instrumental pieces of music that it strikes with me also,,takes me back to my magic mushroom listening days when I was a teenager growing up around glasgow (Lennoxtwon to be exact) where we used to lie about golf courses at night with the ghetto blaster spaced out on the magics listening to such bands as Hawkwind,Caravan,Ozric Tentacles....Yes I still have to admit I like the old space rock as we used to call it.I honeslty dont think im qualified to comment on the mix itself as We as a band are just starting to use the computer based programs to mix our own music.
