how do i play in my midi but get it to..

how do i play in my midi but get it to playback with pauses and things i have played in, im fairly new to fl and im tryin to get this bassline in and whenever i play it in then play it back i need to turn the tempo down to like 10 to get it to sound anything like what i played in ... someone plz?

I got a question um using FL stuido 6 xxl and I have a small yamaha psr-170 with midid out and in jacks and I have usb midi cable for that but I cannot seem to find the right channel and my keyboard has no gauges or presets listed but hosts a variety of instruments. To use my keyboard would it be better to buy a mic and an amp and record my notes into fruity loops using the recording part, because I don't think mine works a midi controller?

first off...make sure u set up ur midi controller properly...shouldve gotten some sort of msg saying "hardware is now ready to use" or something along those lines...if thats all kosher u then wanna go into fruity loops and look at ur preferences and make sure ur controller is enabled in the midi tab
