I am dabbling in demo dvd of projects.
Rather than using Daw for both, I am thinking
of using my backup 'clone Daw' for video editing.
Both are asus delux 8v's with 1 gig ram daw has 16 track terratec,
clone has maudio 2496 (edit)
Win xp, sonar. both, (and both liscensed by the way folks)
Video software at the moment is magix movie edit pro 11,
uninstalled pinnacle dazzle 90.
With the usb dazzle hub for analog video in, (I know not a hot item)
Camera is panasonic agdvc firewire.
I suppose I will just feed Master tracks from music Daw to Video 'Daw'
for edits and dubbing soundtracks.
I am also thinking timecode issues if I use midi tracks, (which I rarely do),
but a possible issue.
Enough of the song and dance..
Do you think a lan type server is the way to go, or is there some trick
I am not aware of ?
Sorry if I am out of the ballpark as far as post, but hey, this is da future...
Thanks for any ideas/sugestions/yelling in advance.
be good

PS see my post in backstage lounge regarding Celloist Ethan... cool stuff

I think you're getting too hung up on having individual computers for separate jobs.

I use my laptop and desktop for both audio and video editing. Zero problems.
Both audio and video are high-bandwidth, memory intensive applications. What's good for one is good for the other.

You're making life too difficult for yourself....
