Computer Recommendations

I am about to buy a new Notebook PC for my Home studio and was curious if anyone had any recommendations. I was thinking about HP, but I’m not sure

A few things to look for in a notebook for DAW use:

1) intel Sonoma processors are the best performers for the money. AMD Dual cores are better but costly.

2) a 7200 rpm hard drive...two drives are best

3) independent video card ram(unshared)

4) Texas Instruments controllers for both Firewire and PCMCIA interfaces

* Keep in mind that a notebook can not replace a desktop DAW as far as performance goes, but if your needs are not very demanding then you will be fine. The closest to a desktop replacemwnt can be found with the Dual core AMD's.
