Does any body know if they have released BIOS updates for the Nforce 4 Chipsets to address the issues with DAWS?

Don't see this happening anytime soon. Bottom line, the NForce4 + X2 is okay until you get into the 128;64 buffer zone. NForce4 + single core chip is a no go(terrible performance). If your looking to build that DAW, the chipsets of choice on the AMD platform are still the NForce3 and VIA K8T800pro.

I am currently running on an Nforce 3 X2 platform and I am very happy with it, although the prospect of having a faster system bus is always a plus.
In addition going forward I suspect 3 party vendors like TC Electronic and UA will undoubtedly go with PCI X slots for HD compatibility. Hopefully their will be a MOBO available that will support the X2 processor and accommodate both PCI and PCI X.

Yes, it would be, but I learned long ago that chasing technology is a losing battle and in no sector is this more true a statement than in the world of PC's.
I believe we still have some time before PCI-X becomes the standard, it would be nice to have PCI-X slots on your mobo but not at the expense of performance. You may need to wait and see what the next offering from NForce and VIA bring to the table for us DAW users.
If at some point all you need to replace in that DAW is the Mobo, you'll be ahead of the game....we shall see!
