Hello. I just purchased a Midisport 2x2 to add some more midi ins to my work rig. I have the same exact setup on 3 different computers. Cubase, Vstack, chainer, finale etc.
I hooked the midisport up to my laptop and my other home rig w/no problems whatsoever. My work rig (the one I bought the box for) recognizes it, driver installs fine and the inputs show up in all aforementioned apps. Problem is nothing happens. The box lights up, midi in lights work, little pulsing power light. Device manager says it 's working properly. Power management for usb is disabled. I installed it correctly everytime. The apps don't show any midi data coming into the system at all! I have all windows updates on all machines. The work rig is a gigabyte k8ns w/an athlon 64 3000, 1 gig of ram. Very basic. It works flawlessly excfept for this. All other usb devices( mouse, jumpdrive, work light, anything I've ever hooked up to it) work fine. I noticed 2 root hubs in device manager. One was the generic root hub and the other was the Nvidia enhanced 2.0 usb root hub. That one has no power management options. I know this is an assload of writing but I have scoured the internet and read the Maudio knowledge base and don't know what else to do other than ****can it for another box. It works perfectly on the other two systems. Thanks in advance. Great forum!!

Is this your only midi interface? Did you look to see if it's sharing an IRQ? Do you have other devices hooked up to the USB ports? You should have the midi interface on it's own dedicated port. If this is not possible an add-in card should do the trick.

....by the way, you should also hook this up directly to a USB port.....no hubs!

Thanks for writing. I use the midi of the audiophile 2496 as well. On it's own port. No hubs . Even though, I used it in conjunction w/ my delta 1010 midi through a hub on my home rig and it was fine. Where do I find the IRQ info? Thanks again.

Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information. In the tree at the left open up the Hardware Resources link and select IRQ's. They'll be shown in the right window. You can also look to see in the same tree, to see if you have any conflicts/sharing going on.
