Ok i am finally frustrated to all hell... i have an inspiron 600m.. it has a 60gb hd that spins 7200rpm's... over a gig of memory... it is a refurbished machine... i put the hard drive in it and the memmory once i realized that the mbox required that... it has sp1 in it like digidesign said to update...the performance is at best performance for programs... o yea i am running protools 6.4... i keep getting increase buffer or decrease buffer errors... after about 30sc of recording... i have been trying to deal with this for a couple of months now... please anybody help... maybe the factory usb ports aren't fast enough?????

First change the performance (processor scheduling)setting to background services. Next, make sure your Lan/ Modem card is disabled.
Do you know what chipset your laptop uses? And is the the MBox or MBox II?

...Also, make sure that your hard drive is transfering data in DMA mode(5 or 6). Make sure no IRQ sharing is going on. Disable hyperthreading...if enabled. Update your drivers and BIOS via dells site.
