I am not posting this to flame ST Audio users. In fact, if your experience with these cards are anything like mine, I feel sorry for you. I am only giving my 2 cents and letting fellow ST Audio sufferers/victims know that this is not how ALL soundcards/Audio interfaces work. Regardless what ST Audio techies say, you aren't supposed to expect hours of sweat and tears just to get the things to work. There actually are professional interfaces out there designed to work right out of the box (the way it's supposed to be), and that sound just as good as the ST Audio's supposedly superior converters - which was always given to me as a lame excuse for the crappy designs: "they may not work great, but boy do they sound good", blah blah, etc., etc.

I owned two cports for almost 3 years and had nothing but headaches from the stupid things. Besides from the fact that they never played nice with each other, the last drivers were (in my case) horrible! Horrible latency issues, horrible synch issues, just horrible experience all around. I guess you could say I HATE those worthless pieces of trash cards. My problem was only compounded by the fact that I bought into the hype right towards the end when they stopped making driver updates. How is that for customer service? You buy 2 soundcards advertised as designed to work nicely together (for a total of 16 inputs) only to find out that it doesn't work with your software (in my case Cubase SX3) and then are told, "sorry, no more drivers will be updated, but here is a beta we just stopped testing in the middle of development. Hope it works for you, good luck." To late to get your money back. Wam bam thank you mam, what a scam.

I finally got rid of the darn things and got a Digi 002 rack, and let me tell you: it's not every day you buy a piece of kit that actually does more than you expected. I was up and running in minutes, right out of the box...16 inputs and for the same price I paid for my ST Audio gear! I don't know why I waited so long to upgrade. I guess I just thought ALL interfaces were that impossible to get running smoothly, and I spent so much time and energy getting the 2 C-Ports to work that the thought of starting over with another brand really scared me, but now I can't say enough good things about the Digi 002. What a waste of 3 years....

I guess it's pointless to even trash ST Audio considering they were bought out by ESI and no longer make the C-port anymore. So just a word of caution to those searching for cheap audio cards on Ebay or whatever... look elsewhere! BUYER BEWARE! You DONT want the headaches! TRUST me. Maybe some of you had good luck with them, but I just never could get them to do what they were supposed to do, no matter how much tech support they gave me (which BTW is the only good thing I can say about ST Audio: they had great tech support, in the form of one man who incidentally didn't even WORK for ST Audio HAHA! How do you like that? Anyway, kudos to Matt Skinner for fighting such an impossible and futile battle.)

Good riddance to you ST Audio. Anyone who has the same frustration with their ST Audio garbage, I urge you to stop biding your time. UPGRADE NOW! There are such better days ahead if you make the switch! To anything else!No headaches! No problems! Just making music, which is what it's all about. Make the switch today and see what a REAL professional piece of kit is all about.:)

BTW, this message is only for people who have continual problems with their ST Audio gear. Obviosly if your cards work fine, this is a moot point for you. I don't need you getting on here saying, "well they work great for me!" Well whoop-dee-doo, good for you. Stay where you are then. If they ever worked for me, I wouldn't be posting this, so no one wants to hear you brag about your good fortune. Im just saying I felt cheated for 3 years and now I have no more problems and am a thoroughly satisfied Ex-Customer of ST Audio garbage.

Good day.
