What type of sound card I need?

I want to be albe too hear my music from my PC to my audio receiver. (surround sound) I have a Yamaha RX-V657.

At home I have an onboard sound card connected via SPdif to a Denon 3805.
So, no need for an expensive card as the Denon is doing the conversion - great even for VSTi's!

Well I want to hear good quality, maybe 5.1 if possible. Also I already have two L and R audio cables running from back of the receiver to back of my PC. I told the installer that connected my home theater system to leave the cables there just in case I wanted to do this.
