I cannot get the microphone on my headset to work on my Motion Computing Tablet PC, Win XP. I know there is nothing wrong with the mic because it works on my other computer.

Here is what happened. It has a standard plug and the microphone previously worked until I purchased a Logitech USB headset and used it on this computer. I subsequently returned the Logitech headset and now I cannot get the microphone on my original headset to work. The sound works, but the mic does not work.

I've checked the microphone settings and the microphone is NOT muted. Can anyone please tell me what the problem might be?

Thank you!

Sounds like Windows might be confused as to what you're using, and didn't bother to "poll" the hardware. If there was a driver install involved with the old Logitech headset, un-install it (be sure your current one is NOT inserted) and then re-insert your mic/headset. In theory, the OS will "see" it and "activate" the driver for it. If that doesn't do it, or if there was no driver for the Logitech, open the Device Manager and click on the "Refresh" button, and see if that doesn't bring it in. Another thing to check (and I have no idea where you would find this in a tablet PC OS) is the "Preferred Device" in your sound setup. It's liable to still be on "USB" from the Logitech. If a driver is available for the mic/headset (I doubt it if there is) you could try re-installing...
