Can only hear 2.0 Should be 5.1

Here's the story. I had to reformat my hard disk as there was so much junk on there, suffice to say things work well now.

EXCEPT! my sound!

I'm using A sound maker value series 5.1 card.

and tsunami 5.1 speaker set up (sub, centre, left, rear right, rear left.)

Everything worked great untill I had to reformat. I've installed all the drivers and necissary software for the soundcard. and all the speakers are set up perfectly.

I get playback but only in 2.0 not 5.1 as it was before.

I've checked all the XP settings are changed to 5.1 is there something I'm missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you've got your driver installed fine, been thru the driver utility program and set it up; have the speakers setup fine and all the little plugs in the correct jacks, power to the amp, that leaves only 2 other things, maybe... Windows itself - check the mixer panel; and the program you're using to play thru - check all the settings in it (them)...
