After a while of all of us shooting at that target I thought to myself it was time to shoot the mic.

Looks like you need a laptop and some type of FW card for a portable setup.

Good job man! But I wanna know (if it's possible) how much did you spend on this project, because in Brazil it's almost impossible to do something like this (money problems, you know?).

hey sonic... i watched the video... awesome... i really liked all the safety info with fire arms on the video.... a good thought to include it in the video... the last thing you would want is some kid watch the video and try experimenting with fire arms without the safety precautions... i am impressed with your production idea of including the info on the video... very professional and thoughtful indeed....
u guys did have a good time at the range.... that's nice.... i was also wondering why weren’t you using a backup UPS for power rather than a generator... u would then have one less noise maker to worry about....!!..
cheers mate...

excellent work sonic, nice.
if you ever get a chance, an interesting recording project is to record just the flyby of a high-speed hunting round ( .270, the 7mm mag, the .308,
the .30-06, the .300 mag, or the .338 magnum) from 300-500 meters,
you can capture the sonic blast and zing as the round passes the microphone then the report comes eerely later.
i did like the effect of using two microphones, one at the shoter and one down target, there is a nice stereo effect. i didnot read in your article what the distance was between each microphone (maybe i over looked it) but i would like to take a guess that the microphones were 25-50 yards apart.
either way,
good work and i trust you have gotten some usefull samples out of your endevor.
thanks for sharing.

Thanx dude, In the video on that page you can see all the mic placements and I did manage to get some whizbys of bullets earlier on in the spring where we had the bullet pass within 2 cm of the mic and also used a high powered rifle quite a distance away from the mic to avoid the gunshot shound and to fire bullets into sand where the mic was to get even better whizbys
