Hey guys! Ive been using high quality headphones (Sennheiser of course) for quite a while now. I just got my new HD595's and when I plug them into my Logitech 540 speaker headphone jack the bass is weak but when I plug them into my $40 panasonic cd player the bass is really deep and raddles my brain. I have a Santa Cruz sound card and when I adjust the bass in the Santa Cruz control panel it just turns into background fuzz and never gets really deep like my 2AA battery powered cd player. Could it be my sound card?or am I just not getting enough power from my computers jack to provide good bass? I had the same touble for years with my HD570's but it was never as bad as the HD595. The Nominal Impedance on the HD595 is 50ohms while the Nominal Impedance on the HD570 is 64ohms.
Have you tried putting the phones jack NOT in the Logitech, but directly into the soundcard?

definitely an impedance problem, i would try direct to souncard before anything else too. if that fails, try connecting another amp (hi Fi) amp to the souncard and monitor from that.
i know this sounds ridiculous, but has anyone tried monitoring through Ipod drivers? I;ve used DT100's since i was a kid (because evryone did) and i cant stand using headphones because of that.
recently though i've been using Ipod drivers when headphones become necessary, and they sound really balanced in a musical way. the bottom tapers off quite nicely and there's a pleasant presence hump which really helps when tracking vocals.
i have to wear closed cup cans over them, which defeats the purpose really, but they do sound good to my now tired ears :)
