Hi all, glad to be join the forums!

I use mac and pc

mac for protools
pc for fruityloops (totally prefer it to reason, logic)

I use the FL compositions to throw behind the guitar parts in protools.

WHat I want to do is record the guitars into fruityloops to get a quick recording to get the ideas down asap.

What is the procedure to setup channels for guitar? (stereo and mono)

Thanks for your help, glad to see FL users!

I like to use 3 sources on guitar if it is acoustic.......one from the peizo pickup 'one on a condenser mic shooting at about the 14'th fret and the last one( also a condenser) 12" out and jsut behind the sound hole...............if electric.........one mic on the cabinet( place mic where you get the best sound) and a signal from a line out.

1. In order to record into Fl Mixer Channel you need to enable "Asio"
2. Go to Settings Audio
and make sure that the Sound Device you selected is ASIO
You can then adjust the settings (lower number) in the asio panel to reduce latency.
3. select any mixer channel (right click and name it if you want)
4. on the bottom right of the mxer panel you will see a little disk icon press it to arm that mixer track for recording
5. a browser window will appear for naming wavfilewhen recorded (will be based on name of track if you named track)
6 on the bottom left hand of the mixer track you will see "input"
select input source based on the physical connections to your computer.
7. make sure fl is set to song mode when recording audio
8. hit the record button and then the play button
9. play guitar and hit stop
10 fl will auto create sound file.
