hi, i have a 5.1 logitech z-680 set up on a audigy 2zs gamers sound card using windows x64 OS. my problem is i dont get sound from my back rear 2 speakers... i already went into windows control panel<sounds and audio devices<settings and changed it to 5.1.... i also changed my "Creative audio Console" to 5.1 setup also... i tried differnt combinations with the "CMSS 3D" options with no luck... i also know its not broken speakers because ive switched the front speakers with teh back speakers wires and they worked fine.... any suggestions?

Did you run a speaker test to see if a signal is being sent?

Did you try and run a speaker test through the Audigy card, using Creatives software?

The surroundmixer has some expand function (called 'advanced mode'); then you can choose between some EAX effects, or speakers setup. In the 'speaker setup window' is also the speaker test function.

Every Creative 'soundcard' has firmware on the bundled CDRom. If you install those drivers (instead of just using XP's drivers) you get this surround mixer, which BTW is also perfect for 2 channel stereo mixing; it controls the recording input, the wav level, the midi level, and stuff like this...

but since im using windows x64 i had to download the drivers for my os off a website.... and i have a "creative audio console" by the way i downloaded this small program that tested whether each speaker was responding, and i only got responses from my front and center speakers..

windows x64?

EDIT:

I just did a quick Google and found out x64 is Windows XP 64 bits, a beta OS with almost no driver support this day.

Any reason for using x64 instead of normal XP?
