which USB controller / Midi interface for Beige G3 / OS 9.1 ?

hi all,

have beige G3 running OS 9.1 and (for now) PT free just to get my hands dirty with this whole DAW thing. i'm getting sound into it via mackie 1202 and RCA inputs on my A/V card... i want to get a midi interface to hook up my groove box and a cheap controller (probably an old kawai synth or maybe one of those super cheap kaysound or fatar controllers).. my question is, which USB pci card and midi interface do you have experience with and/or can recommend?

i was thinking of getting the orangelink usb+firewire card and a midiman 2x2 interface

I using a Midiman 2x2 USB that is Mac and PC compatible. Absolutely zero problems: plug it in, run the driver and you're there.

Make sure that your power supply in your old G3 can support 2 firewire ports and 2 usb ports. If not, just get a usb card.
