what im saying is what dont i need in my MAC to just use it for music
i have logic plat..with a amt 8 and thinking about geting the motu 1224,otherwise i dont need all the rest of the stuff thats in this thing oh its a G4 runing OS 9.0.4

If you're using Logic here is a good link. http://www.logicuser.net/extensions/browse.php3. If DP or other programs then only by Trial and Error.

depending on your OS you can usualy trash everything except for a few essentials and the extention/Control panels specific to the stuff you are running.
i would sugest spending a day and booting on a cd and then just moving things to a temp folder and see what you can trash.
as far as i know on OS8 the you can get rid of everything except 1) text encoding converter extension, 2) Finder, 3) System Resources, and 4) System suitcase (but you can trash the contents). On OS9 its the same except you dont need the text encoding converter and you do need the Mac OS ROM. On both of these you technicaly can use no fonts and the system font will automaticly be used, but sometimes its kinda hard to read. With virtual memory off you can theoreticaly get down to 12 MB of RAM on OS8 and like 22 on OS9. Final word, you can trash your prefrences and be okay, BUT it will reset most of your settings in all your programs; including the finder, so always keep a backup copy.
