I recently switched to a G4 audio recording system and I am thinking about getting a new SCSI controller to run my Ultra160 and SCSI-2 drives. Which Ultra160 cards are best for Macs and audio? Are the dual channel really worth the money? Why would I need two channels?
thanks.

Yes the dual is a better choice, you can run each drive on separate channel giving you better performance, this way one drive's speed won't effect the other's. Atto controllers are much better then Adaptec, so if you want to get a dual then go with Atto. If you want to go with single and not 160, but U2W, then Initio Miles 2 beats Atto's single channel U2W controller. Again if you're on budget then get a single channel, cause a new Atto dual will run you about $400 - $500 bucks, you might find a used one on ebay for about $300. What ever you decide stay away from Adaptec - it's a consumer controller not a Pro.
