I played an accoustic gig in a geodisic dome once, and the sound was really cool. Quirky cool, with all its crispness and slapback- but i was wondering if this would be a good idea for a studio? Would that sound just be too crazy in a recording milieu (multiple mics and all)?
What do you think?

Hey,
using a geodesic dome for a studio might be an interesting idea, you could theoretically make it sound like an open air recording using the right acoustic baffles and acoustic foam.
I wouldn’t use the dome as a recording studio unless it was acoustically dampened. On the other hand the resonance might be exactly what you are looking for in your recording.
I’ve done recording sessions in large empty pools and newly poured concrete basements with very unique reverb results.
