Emu feat. DigiDesign??? Can it be that good??

I read about these new EMU cards 1824m or something like that.... This card has same converters as DigiDesign 002 rack... But the price is much lower... I have some old Terratec sound cards (couple off EWS88mt's and EWX24/96) and i was thinking of buying RMEs or DigiDesign cards for real improvment in sound (not that i dont like Terratec, they sound very nice) but this EMU stuff realy confused me?????? Is it that good??? Is it so much better than this few cards that i have??? I'll pay for RME's if i nead but if this EMU is good enough, i'd go for one.....
Please, some advice?????

It is quite possible they got the good convertors but didn't use the best shielding... I'm afraid you usually do have to pay for true quality. Emu cards are pretty nice though. eh... but digidesign & rme are simply better.... If you really want to know how they are better you just need to find you some spec sheets... Find out what the noise levels are, the dynamics, all them things.
