a couple of years by accident i got fruityloops 3.44 and was playing around wit it i was like yeh that is good but after a while it seemed pretty lame then to my joy and delight FL studio 4x came out and was hooked now i'm using fl 5 and i couldnt be any happier

but i hear alot of ppl down playing fl studio and i wanna know why? is it cos it don't got so many buttons like the other? hell half the ppl who use fl prolly even know about the legacy effects....

anyways i use both reason and fl studio and my 1st reason y i prefer fl is this

it's just much more easier and i mean reason got this horrid system where it's just a linear sequencer and i mean sometimes it just gets to u and well fl loop based sequencer is just way betta

next thing is the effects:
sure the effects in fl aint all full of graphics but they r quiet good such f/x such as the reverb/chorus/flanger r really very good and cpu friendly and most importantly they just as good as all those big graphical ones

next thing fl does have some really good synths such as the 3xOsc, plucked, dx10 and sytrus

next best thing if u like reason but can't stand the linear sequencing then just use rewire

and then my fav is that u can use vsti and dxi synths/effects(which reason can't do but cubase can)

but i nthe end on it's FL studio pretty much is very decent thas y i got 3rd party plugins to make it a force to be reckoned with

chyea fl rox!!!!

Neat handle.
Ever downloaded Ableton Live demo&give that a try?
i would truly dig having a partner who also uses both..the type of user which I have not yet met... but i am taking the aggressive approach.. i happened to notice your inciteful say and all regardin"fl" I would like to say i knew how to really use it but i am not a dj i am a keyboard player an old man in the eyes of "youth" rightly so... I wish it werenot but ... alas i am proud to have reached this age, naturlly as i will be every additional day , of my life... but you will know all bout that on your own account soon enuff I was wondering if you are like a deejay? in the sense for your "use" of fruity loops? i am so old i can't quite even fathom why a lotta stuff gets invented... not that i am not vary glad it was.. just not understanding how it came to be?(Not that its terribly important, but i would like to learn anything my absense anywhere has disallowed me from knowing! especially the use of fl from any advisers from their own experiences..so that why i am contactin you.. I hope its not too much of a distraction of the neg-sort.
thanks
Jbon

ps I almost forgot to re-iterate<ifyou, like me are a creator, as I suspect> IF YOU HAVE NOT YET TRIED LIVE.. DO IT NOW.

I use FL Studio for it's ease of use. I just want to get in there and make my music without having to deal with all of the extra nonsense in other pieces of software. The only other software I use in conjunction with FL are vst/vstis (mainly Halion and a few softsynths) and Soundforge. The rest is done with my brain and a (somewhat) huge library of soundfonts and samples.

Hi all (well found ninja!)

I use FLStudio because it's a complete recording/mixing studio.
At least, it is for what I need.

It's quite simple to use and allows me to record my guitars over a drum machine. Could I ask for more?

I started on fl and i must say it was fantastic to learn on i then moved to reason and then to cubase. While the idea behind fruityloops sequencing its great in its simplicity, it made developing ideas for me a little bit hard and so i'd end up with either lots of patterns that were similar or a song that had the same thing all the way through. The sequencer in reason i feel improoved on this because i could still make blocks of patterns and copy em where ever i wanted but i could also go and edet each indavidual pattern. I think while this is great, it still needs improvments (wont go into that here) finaly i advanced to cubase... i think its not perfect either but with a score editor and its mixing and recording and edating and plugin/rewire capabilities and everything else, its good enough for me not to worry about its shortcommings which really arn't all that bad... just me havin a whinge lol.

the one thing about fl i find fault with is that it aint backward compatible thas all

i use cubase once in awhile but the new fl5 really improved in sound quality but anyways in terms of interface wuteva worx best fo whoeva
