Hi everyone,
I have an m-audio 2496 card installed on my G5 Power Mac, 2.5ghz, connected to my DAT player through a S-PDIF connection. I get levels on the M-audio panel, the same thing hapenning on all the audio recording apps I have (soundtrack, peak) but I can't hear it through my headphones. My system preferences are properly set (output to "built in audio") and I don't know what else to look for.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Marcos H.

assuming that all the level markers are turned up ( ive been guilty of that a few times ) you may have to change your harware patchbay settings to "monitor" or something of the likes.

Neil,
Thanks for your response. ON MY "audio card delta control face, under patch bay/ router I have Analog In/Out and S/PDIF In Out. I the have "software", "monitor mixer", "s/pdif", "s/pdif in reverse" and "analog in/out" as options. I've tried all of them with no positive outcome.
Any other thoughts?

just a though. Which set of RCA's are you plugged into. Are you sure that you do not have your speakers plugged into the S/PDIF port and not the analog out port?
Seen it many times, (AKA, done that myself)

Just out of curiosity; where are your headphones hooked up to? The "proper setting" should actually be your Delta. If you want the least amount of issues, both monitoring or otherwise, use ONE driver for audio in AND out. Select your Delta card for both and hook your speakers to the RCA outs in the back..

So I guess you have to get some kind of interface lead to connect the single speakers plug to the outputs on the Audiophile.
Can the speakers plug go to just one of the outputs or does the interface have to connect to both output jacks?
Thanks.
