multiface trouble, please...please help -

Guys, this is a tough one and anyone that can help is a saint right now. I have a big project coming up this weekend. I'll even paypal ya a little money if you can help me solve it. Problem is with my rme multiface + hammerfall dsp card and windows service pack 2. After I downloaded service pack 2 I received a constant error light on the multiface. I took the following steps to try to fix it - also I should note that I may have downloaded the wrong drivers, cause now my total mix, where you see the inputs, is showing only adat and spdif inputs instead of analog. Here's what I did:

1) Updated windows xp to service pack 2
2) constant host error
3) used flash update tool http://www.rme-audio.com/download/fut_win_dsp.zip
4) updated pnp driver http://www.rme-audio.com/download/w2dsp282.zip
5) uninstalled SP2
6) tried win xp driver rollback

Any multiface users out there? Thank you thank you thank you.

Unfortunately I don't have any specific help for you but if all else fails, go back to the beginning and start all over.
I know it can be a dreaded and daunting task but sometimes the best solution is to backup all of your important data and wipe out the boot drive. Followed by a reinstall of the OS, programs and drivers and steer clear of SP2 unless RME has passed it as compatible and/or offers any fixes.
Good luck with it and maybe someone will come along with some definitive solutions.

Thanks. My biggest worry is that I somehow busted the multiface, but I've been assured this is near impossible with just software issues....

What the **** are RME Playing at!

I just got this gear this evening and tried to perform the new flash update on the old cardbus, now its been saying failed for the last 3 hours. So i decided to give up.

It says on the read me file oh just keep your computer on, **** OFF!!

I need to know is this card now ****ed or is it the unit itself?, cus i bought this thing for a gig im doing this sat 26th may and if they dont sort it im gonna get a ****in flight over and punch the ears right of someone. Why bring out an update that can kill your gear, thats just plain stupid. If something like that was to happen WHY DONT THEY PUT A BIG ****ING WARNING AT THE TOP OR MAKE IT FOR NON USE OF OLD VERSIONS. RME YOUR WANKERS AND IM GONNA KNOCK YOUR **** IN.


So whats the story here to the solution, Do i need to buy a new cardbus or what?
