I am doing some recording in my home and want to be able to do at least 6 tracks at once for live drums. I was looking at the M-audio Omnistudio PCI but no one carries it anymore and m-audio discontinued it. Is there something similar on the market? It can be either pci, usb, or firewire but I need the 6 in's. I am looking to stay within my budget of $300 if at all possible. Thanks.

think about the pre-amps!
if you're going to be using mic's then u'll need pre=amps.
most interfaces will only come with two so unless u buy a separate pre-amp can only record with two mic's.....so drums aren't gonna be too good.
i'm getting the presonus firepod....which is $550 but it has eight channels all with pre=amps. I'm thinking that It'll save me upgrading if bought a smaller interface. It also looks really neat.
if you're doing Direct In with loadsa guitars and basses etc....then its not a problem.
