Aloha,

Ive been searching in vain for a few days trying to find out how to upgrade the midi banks (or midi library, or whatever) to play better quality midi files on a Sound Blaster Audigy 2.

The current midi is junk. It sounds more like old Nintendo music than an orchestra. Do you know how to go about upgrading midi, or getting a better bank/library/whatever?

Thanks.:)

Most soundblaster people find soundfonts a good solution; instead of the 'creative software synth' you choose 'synth a' and load a soundfont in the memory.
For more info on this, see the soundblaster helpfiles on your PC.

OK; instead of the 'creative software synth' you choose 'synth a'.
Then go to the Creative Audio Head Quarter, or whatever it is called on the Audigy (I only used a live!) and choose soundfont.
Click on bank and load one.

There is some good documentation about soundfont loading here:

That's one page from this site, very useful user info for you too!
