When I play a wav or mp3 file, it shows at what point in the wav its playing at via the scrolling line when its being played. What I'm hearing doesnt match up to that line. In other words, I will play the file and listening to it, it ends. The file is done. But the line is still moving accross the wav trying to catch up it seems? I run AA 1.0, WinXP Pro. Athlon XP 2200, 512 DDR ram, 80 gig HD with 90% free. All other programs work great. Nothing running in the background. I seem to remember some settings I had to make last time I used one of these programs. Something in win.ini, buffer settings I had to add or something? I cant remember. Any help would be great. Sorry for the wordy post, didnt really know how to explain it.

Are you running any other DAW software? Sometimes, I've experienced similar trouble when editing a file in one program and then editing it in another. Most DAWs use reference files to save "extra information" like cue points or effects settings. Cool Edit saves them as ".pk" files. I've experience conflicts with SAW Pro and Sound Forge that sounded like your problem... the audio wasn't matching up with the display--the solution is to wipe out the reference file. Unless you need the extra information, they really serve no purpose but to clutter up your files. Supposedly they save time when re-loading files, but c'mon--the annoyance factor outweighs any benefits. There's a way to keep Cool Edit from saving them which is a great feature.

Sorry for the long-winded response--since it probably won't help one bit. But, I thought the information to be useful anyway.

Make sure that the sample rate of your wav or mp3 file matches the sample rate of your software.
