I would like to upgrade the RAM in my oldish DAW (Celeron 800 mhz, 128mb PC 133 right now), but because I intend to sell it and upgrade in the next two years, I don't want to spend more than about $70. It runs pc133, and I'm down to about two choices. Would it be better for me to get a 512mb CAS3 Micron/generic, or a 256mb CAS2 Crucial stick? Which will give me better performance for audio recording? I'm running Aark Direct Pro 24/96 with Cakewalk PA9.0, 120GB Hitachi 7200 RPM drive, and Windows XP Home.
Any comments would be helpful. Thanks!

I would go with 512mb of some decent RAM. You don't need anything fancy on that setup, maybe Kingston Value RAM fits your budget? 256 megs is barely enough for a regular PC with XP, much less a DAW.
