Recently I've been looking into some sound effect libraries that you can buy on CD... but these CD's can average around $300 each!! And that's not including the good ones; the ones I need.

So rather than curl up into a ball and weep, I set out to do alot of searching, and now I want to try asking the nice audio people here: Does anyone know of any good sound effects CD's, websites, or any kind of resource where I can find any misc sounds or ambient sounds, and also a decent collection of weapons and explosions sounds?

I would just buy the Ultimate Weapon set, but I dont have $550 just lying around to toss into some sound effects. :(

Help? Anybody? Sound effects?... that dont cost moolah?

Thanks macouno. I checked out Samplefusion... they seem to be a little... how do you say... musically oriented.

I need weapon and ambient/atmoshperic sounds mostly... that they dont seem to have. :(

But hey, there a lot of musicians here; that's where you'll find your samples. :D

Check out Sound Ideas ( www.sound-ideas.com ) They have discs as low as 120 cdn. There's a few other places around that price I bet. I see you were looking for a mini disc at one time. Doing some sound design?

Yeah... thanks for noticing... I'm working on a weapon/gameplay modification for Unreal Tournament 2004.

I've been hunting for weapon and ambient sounds for a few months now and have only found a handful of potential cd's:

the EFX Guns Vol I & II, for 60 euros (however much that is in American money),

The Ultimate Weapon (the natural choice... but I could never afford it - $500)

...And whatever I find at the link you gave me; thank you, it's the best effects library collection I've seen. The other that I found was sloppy, expensive, and misinformative.
