Please help me, I've got a file which has the extension .iso (I think that this is an image format), the file has also been compressed with Winrar. I've tried to decompress the file with the latest version of Winrar (other files decompress o.k.) so Winrar is o.k. I get an error message: "header file is corrupt". I've been able to get to the file which as I say has the .iso extention when I try to open it the dialog box asks me which programme I would like to open it with. What programme will open this damn file. I want to keep this file because the files within are what I need. How the hell do I get out of this situation without losing the information within the file. :)

serach daemon tools in the google and download it. you can mount the iso as a virtual drive. very handy.

An .iso is usually a copy of a CD-ROM all in one file.

Try opening it with Nero or whatever CD-R burning program you have and it'll probably want you to supply a blank CD-R to burn the result.

Or as Erik says you may be able to mount it as a virtual drive with the proper software.

Did you download this iso from the internet?
It needs to be downloaded as binary, and i know that at least netscape have a tendency to download in ascii. if you download in ascii it might have been corruptet...
