I just ordered a WD SATA drive just because it was cheap. Now I'm just wondering if you could just mix & match EIDE & SATA drives together? I'm guessing yes.

The other question was just out of curiosity and couldn't even put it to words. Is the difference only in the plugs or is it a whole different "transfer bus" thing as in a different way of getting data in / out of the computer.

Haven't opened the case yet, but is there such thing as a primary and secondary SATA port (like w/ Eide's). I know there are two on my A7N8X, just haven't checked.

Anyway, thanks.

I don't have SATA-drive, but as far as I know, SATA is (dunno how much) faster that EIDE. Also, there's no masters and slaves in SATA, so only one drive can be plugged with one cable (EIDEs can be put two to one cable and slot).
